I was about to write this in my journal - but then I thought, why not write here?

Because ultimately so many of the topics I journal about I’d want to bring to this platform so I should just start now.

So what is manifestation? You’ve probably heard of it or maybe you practice it regularly.

Basically, manifestation (also known as the law of attraction) is when you want something and then get that something. This can be anything - money, love, new job, health, appearance - anything. It can be broad like “I want a raise” or specific “I want Jimmy to venmo me $356345.67 on May 3rd.”

And that can sound rather ridiculous. It can sound lazy or impossible or a waste to have such a practice. And if that’s your view then it probably is a waste. But here’s my understanding of it - and hopefully this post will clear up some misconceptions and answer some questions.

There’s many different explanations for the mechanisms of manifestation - why and how and if it works. Like affirmations, meditations, rituals and even the super sciency quantum physics stuff - which are all great! But I won’t get into them here because this post would be way too long and also I don't know much about it.

Our world is made up of two basic things: energy and matter. Everything around you and your body and your mind are these two things.

You’re reading these words on a screen, maybe a phone or computer, which is metal and electricity and some other stuff, and it functions because there is matter and energy. And your hand is matter and energy - cells and neurons, so are your eyes, and the signals that transform these words through the eyes giving you vision and reading comprehension in the brain. A table is matter and energy. So are things we can’t necessarily see or feel - sound waves, gravity, light, etc. - you get the gist. This is all that we are and all that this world is - this is science.

Science has also shown that there isn’t very much matter at all. When you magnify and object, say a rock, which seems very dense and solid and matter-y, it is just a bunch of atoms clumped together. And what is inside those atoms - mostly just space, just energy moving around. The entire universe, which we perceive as having a lot of “stuff” in it, is actually 99.9999999% empty space. In this space is lots of fun stuff like wave functions and quantum fields, but not a lot of matter.

Mostly, our world is just energy. Energy is measurable, to some extent, but science hasn’t been able to quantify the intelligence that experiences this energy - we call that energy consciousness.

So without ascribing meaning to anything - our existence is just a bunch of energy bopping around with a consciousness to observe it and interact with it. Maybe this means nothing to you or maybe this is kinda cool or kinda scary.

I think it’s cool because this means that how we interact with this energy can possibly determine a specific desired outcome. According to Vedic philosophy, energy is infinite potential. And when that energy is combined with a consciousness, form is created.

When we, conscious beings, interact with our world, outcomes occur. We touch a fire, we burn our hand. We take a shower, we get wet. There is always a perceived connection between action and reaction. We wait tables, we get a paycheck. Curse out our boss, we get fired. This goes along with the law of karma, which I’m excited to get into another time.

“So okay, our world is energy and we’re playing with it - how do I get a Ferrari?”

First get clear on why you want a Ferrari. Is it because it’ll make people like you? Or because you like going fast? You’ll get girls? You’ll feel successful? Whatever the reason is - get clear on the “why”, because maybe you just want something to cover up or address a deeper issue.

Say you want to make more money. Why? "Because I’m struggling to pay rent right now and I want to help my brother with his hospital bills, and visit my friend in Australia. Being broke is a huge distraction and I’m not able to help myself or anyone else because I’m so consumed with worrying about money." Or maybe you’re suffering from some kind of illness - even if it’s small - back pain, stomach issues, cancer. Why do you want health? A relationship? A job? A house? Any certain state of being. Ask why.

If the things we desire will truly serve us to better ourselves and the people around us, when we ask why, we’ll know if what we want will truly propels us toward positive growth or if it is just an attempt to mask a deeper problem. And who knows. Maybe that Ferrari really will facilitate this positive growth for you. That’s for you to know - not anyone else.

Now we know what we want and why. But how? That’s where the energy comes in. According to the law of attraction, the energy you put out is the energy you will receive.

Generally, we know this to be true. If Jimmy is super nice to everyone, usually most people will be super nice to him. If Timmy believes he’s ugly and unlovable, he’ll probably never have a girlfriend. If Chris hates having a dog, he probably won’t own it very long. If Gerald always tells himself that he’s always gonna be poor and he sucks at managing money and blah blah blah. He’ll probably stay broke.

What we first need is a mindset change. “Fake it til you make it” if you have to. If you sincerely believe and know that something is for you - you have to believe that it will be provided. It’s basic psychology that when you develop a belief that something will happen - like in the negative sense, if you believe you will be robbed, you'll develop a fear of being robbed - you'll both consciously and subconscious constantly have thoughts and behaviors to align and prepare you for that possible future event. You wear a fanny pack and install security cameras and are super cautious to lock all the doors and be super aware of your surroundings in public.

If you want, say money, and believe fully that money is coming, you are more likely to subconsciously align your thoughts and actions toward attaining that money. Take steps toward that goal - toward that intention. If you believe you are worthy of whatever it is you desire, you will begin to act like someone who is worthy. Someone who drives the Ferarri or runs a sub-5-minute mile or owns a poodle.

You are putting that energy - that vibration - out into the universe and saying “Hi I’m ready for my trip to Brazil, and I know I deserve this, and I want to go because I love the culture, and my friend Chad lives there.” And the universe is like “got it” and what happens is you raise the vibration of your inner world to meet a certain vibration of energy in your outer world. Instead of fighting against life, you’re flowing with it. And maybe this mindset change will subconsciously fire you up to save up your vacation days and ask Chad if he has a couch you can sleep on and buy that plane ticket because why not?

And this is not a confirmed science. There isn’t a perfect correlation or an identified causal relationship... yet;) But it’s fun to see how if you want something, and the intentions for wanting it are pure, you can probably get it. Maybe you’re not curing cancer or changing your eye color - maybe it’s more “realistic” more practical and functional. But maybe you’ll wake up one day with green eyes and can stop chemo, I don’t know. Some people have testimonials of crazy experiences with this phenomena.

For me, I like to send the intention out there and get clear on my goals so I can align with them and begin to take action. If I’m on a pure path and doing my part, I can rest easy trusting that the universe will meet me - if it’s meant to be. Manifestation for my personal practice is more pragmatic, but I also believe insane magical shit can and does happen.

So anyways, the reason I began writing this in the first place was to set some intentions and manifestations of my own for these next few months. Some of them are pretty broad because I honestly don’t really care when or how they happen. And I’ll be okay if they don’t happen. I’m simply setting direction and goals to work towards because at this time they are what I see to align with the overall path I’m on.

My manifestations:

If I can teach yoga and make substantial income from that - great. Otherwise I’ll also freelance art and graphic design and maybe work at a coffee shop or restaurant. I want to save money so I can move to California, but I don’t want this process of attaining money to be stressful or to get so lost in simply reaching toward a goals that I no longer find enjoyment in where I’m at right now. If it takes longer to save money, that’s completely fine! I’ll be happily patient and enjoy my time in northern virginia. With that said, I am manifesting money because there is so much I want to experience! I want to give and learn and share. I want to pay off my student loans and fix my car and see live music and go to beautiful places and do fun activities. I want to be comfortable and to have the option to explore and experience. There is nothing material I really need right now - but there will be and being desperate for money can be a huge distraction and hinderance to growth. I am also manifesting my move to California at some point in this coming year. I am manifesting deepening my relationships with others through love and authenticity. I am manifesting my health - body and mind - through my routines and habits. I’m manifesting learning - studying more about yoga and life and maybe learn a language. I’m manifesting creation - art, writing, building this platform. And finally I’m manifesting presence - the joy in every moment that is inherent if we stop resisting our current circumstances and embrace them fully.

I’ll share more details as I go along, but for now I’m just sending the vibes out. Living each day knowing that life is a river to flow within not a battlefield to fight upon.

ram ram.

much love! dream extreme! ☆
